Our Sixth Decade - The 1980s

The 1980s brought with it one of Janesville Little Theatre's greatest challenges.  While still struggling with declining ticket sales, the unthinkable happened. Due to changing fire codes, the Library Auditorium, which had been JLTs home for over 50 years was no longer suitable for public performances.  The renovations necessary to comply with the new fire codes were not only cost prohibitive, but detrimental to the building aesthetically.  It seemed as though it might be curtains for JLT until an unlikely partnership with an upstart caterer lead to a new home and a completely new way of doing business:  Dinner Theater.
