This fast-paced, door-slamming comedy follows two roommates who try to cheat the IRS by pretending to be married. Their scheme unravels in spectacular fashion when fiancées, a suspicious tax investigator, and a meddling landlord all show up at the worst possible moments. Big characters, quick timing, and nonstop chaos make this a crowd-pleasing spring production.

ROLES AVAILABLE:
Jon Trachtman – Earnest, anxious musician caught in the IRS scam.
Leslie Arthur – Charming, impulsive roommate; the scheme’s mastermind.
Kate Dennis – Jon’s smart, loving fiancée; suspicious of the chaos.
Connie – Leslie’s emotional, bold girlfriend.
Floyd Spinner – No‑nonsense IRS investigator; sharp and persistent.
Mr. Jansen – Gruff, old‑fashioned landlord easily scandalized.
Arnold Grunion – Conservative, nervous accountant overwhelmed by events.
Vivian Trachtman – Jon’s dramatic, opinionated mother.
All roles are open. New and returning performers are encouraged to audition.

Cold readings from the script. No preparation required.
Rehearsals begin shortly after casting and will be scheduled based on cast availability.

Getting ready to audition for a Janesville Little Theatre production? Here's everything you need to know:
- No Preparation Needed: You don't need to prepare a reading in advance. Auditions consist of reading from the script and interacting with other actors who are also auditioning.
- Versatility Matters: You may be asked to read for multiple roles during the audition.
- Forms to Bring: Please print and complete a copy of the JLT Talent Information Form (currently being updated) and Photo Release Form (linked below) to bring with you. Don’t worry—additional copies will also be available at the audition venue.
