Regional Playwrights Competition for Janesville Little Theater Season 99

Who’s eligible:
Playwrights 13 and older in Wisconsin and Surrounding States
Submission Guidelines and Purpose:
To celebrate the 99th season and spotlight regional playwrights
Open to ages 13 and up
Submissions must be original unpublished works in completed format ready for stage presentation
Total run time can be 60 mins to 150 min
Open to themes under these categories: comedy, horror, mystery, romance, sci-fi and drama
Submissions can be submitted electronically to

Submissions are due on June 30,2025 by midnight
Submissions will be judged by a committee of 5 people and all judged by the same criteria, Judges can not submit work of their own to be judged.
(Subject and Content, Writing Style and staying within guidelines)
Prize: to have your original work performed as one of the 3 shows of our 99th season, recognition of being a winning playwright during our season 98 and 99 fundraisers, and 4 tickets to the performance of your show. No cash prize is offered and none of these prizes can be exchanged for cash
Winner will be chosen and notified privately by Jan 1st,2026 and will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement to ensure secrecy.
The winner will be publicly announced at the Season 98 kickoff fundraiser
By submitting your writing you give us rights to the perform your play at no cost to Janesville Little Theatre and permission to perform and advertise it as Janesville Little Theatre sees fit.
